What is a sailor? Someone alone, simple, sometimes a dreamer, tossed about in the winds of maritime exchanges and the whims of world trade. As shown by the hell experienced by the crew imprisoned aboard an abandoned cargo ship immobilized on the quay of an Algerian port, a sailor is not worth much. For six months, François Chilowicz shared the life of a group of men on board a commercial vessel.
