Vin Nem” – light – is a choreographic play from
Burkina Faso by Lacina Coulibaly, who presents the animalistic and tormented bodies of Black African males. The beauty of this play is in the expressiveness of the movements and rhythms, which are sometimes ethereal and sometimes extremely jerky. This duality is found in the muscular power of the duos as well as the spectacular finale representing a passage toward light.
