STRIKES IN A ROW

Two harsh strikes at a French television station, shot from the inside, but with time’s scrutiny: in 1997, at France 3, a general strike where still are raised questions of union representation, of negotiation, but also of betrayal and
revolutionary utopia; in 2002, still at France 3, are opposed a threatened public service and insolent free trade, in a hopeless and lonesome strike with for background a society crisis. The film questions – though it is a period of democratic « shortage» – the links between a crisis and its representation and the representation of a crisis.
