The Refusal” is a partisan film which speaks only with those who, in 1940, refused to accept
defeat, German occupation and the Vichy government; those who felt a political and moral obligation to fight back. Brought together by affinity, family or out of sheer necessity, circumstances pushed these people to invent fighting tactics and a movement that would later be called the French Resistance.Using interviews with many of the people who were there, “The Refusal” brings the spirit of the French Resistance alive.
