APPRENTICES

This documentary looks at the path followed by an apprentice, from his initial career guidance interview to his first attempts at finding a job at the end of his training. It presents interviews with apprentices, teachers, business leaders, career guidance counsellors and parents and is filmed on-site to demonstrate the difficulties engendered by the association of school and work.Beyond the official campaigns to promote youth training through apprenticeships, this film explores the reality of the practice in order to better understand its strengths and weaknesses. This scrunity is essential if apprenticeships are to avoid disappointing the hopes that their recent promotion has inspired in young people.
