A virtuoso clarinetist, composer and jazz-loving improviser, David Krakauer is one of the emblematic figures of the new music Klezmer (wandering musicians from Central Europe). This music brings together avant-garde New York jazzmen wanting to reconcile their Jewish roots with their taste for improvisation. Accompanist, leader and concert organizer, David Krakauer is the central character who allows an exploration of this emerging scene that is totally specific to New York. The film is a portrait of a warm and exuberant musician, who shares his time between New York and Paris.
