Since 1984 and the spectacular fall of Enterprise Creuzot Loire, the town of Creuzot has had to manage without the references and identity established over 150 years of life with the “Factory”. Formerly reputed worldwide as the jewel of French metallurgy and mechanical engineering, Creuzot is sliding into an abyss of joblessness, homelessness and social exclusion. Spanning from World War II to the end of the 20th century, the story of this small Burgundy town offers a microcosmic view of the ills that plague French society today.
