Gil EVANS (1912-1988) Born in Canada, Gil EVANS spent most of his huge career as a composer in New York.His meeting with Miles Davis in 1949 marked the birth of Cool of which he would always be the most accomplished representative. His path crossed that of countless musicians: Jazz musicians but also major stars like Jimmy Hendrix or Sting.
