From Plato’s Academy to Paris or the Metropolitan New York High Line, the garden city lives in the city and promotes the search for our most intimate heterotopias. Instead of speaking, at first limited to philosophers, he later became the seat of democracy for the greatest number. The speaker’s corner is always in Hyde Park. It’s in the garden of the Palais Royal that the French Revolution was conceptualized. This is certainly no stranger to the fact that the Restoration of Charles X was quick to put the “order” in this famous garden. The film attempts to show the main stages in the appropriation of urban public space in Europe. Indicator of social, demographic, biological, but also aesthetic and stylistic, the garden is essentially a reflection of our societies. Its various definitions, its different forms, develop the evolution of our relationship to space, both private and shared.
